The Photographers’ Gallery in collaboration with Liberty London presents IN YOUR FACE – a series of iconic punk portraits and style statements that reflect the continuing legacy of Punk.
Exploding on to the London scene in the late 1970s, Punk celebrated raw attitude, youth culture, provocation and self- expression, paving the way for the unique DIY sounds, subcultures and fashion that came afterwards.
The images are selected from Punk Weekender – a special exhibition held at The Photographers’ Gallery in June 2016 marking forty years of Punk. They reflect both the collective and individual approaches to Punk that continue to influence contemporary culture today.
