Punk Rock: a style of music, but more importantly an attitude, a way of life. A way of looking at the world and not accepting the status quo, of thinking we can do this ourselves, and getting up off that arse and actually doing something.

The Sonics were punk rock, James Dean was too, so were the Shangri La’s. the Kingsmen’s version of Louie Louie was maybe the first punk rock song, Minor Threat were definitely punk, and singer Ian MacKaye still is. The New York Dolls, electronic duo Suicide, the Velvet Underground: all of them had that essential punk attitude in spades. Patti Smith is still total punk - always has been and always will be. And thankfully it is still with us: just check out the Sleaford Mods and Sheer Mag.
